
Where it all began....
Antonie was born on the 26th of September 1974 in Vredenburg, South Africa. The first time him came into contact with racing was in his school days when he drove a go-kart at killarney briefly one day. He met Mark Siegelberg in 1995 when Antonie started with inflatable racing.
Antonie and Mark became friends and they started competing in inflatable boat racing. In the end of 1999 they competed in the Trans Augulhus where engine failure ended their race in tears on the third day leading the 95 boats. The Trans Augulhus is a boat race from Plettenberg Bay to Strand in South Africa. It covers 700km in 5 days. It is rate as the toughest boat race in the world.
After various other boat races Antonie got into oval track racing for the first time in 2002. He started in the Late model class before moving onto Midgets in 2005. He compete country wide in both gravel and pavement events as well as nationals.
He retired in October 2009 from oval track racing and moved on to cross country mountain biking.
Along with cycling he also enjoy radio control flying.
Antonie's father,Anton Tallie, has spent all his life being part of his racing career and has given up on most of his passions to support him in every way. Now is Antonie's time to give back what he was so fortunate to have. This site is in part dedicated to the building of an Acroduster Airplane from scratch. He will help to complete this project and also document to progress on this site.
