TRACKS AND SCHEDULES

Worcester Motor Club

track

Worcester's track is 3/8 mile banked oval track. It is a clay surface that requires a lot of preparation to ensure a good racing surface. First the surface must be graded to remove the old surface clay and make the track smooth. Then the water truck gives it a good soak before the clay can be compacted and ready to race on. The key is to get the surface to a tacky consistency which provides traction for the racing tyres.

RACE SCHEDULE:

07 March 2009 (Tygerberg dirt nationals)

14 March 2009 (WMK)

28 March 2009 (WMK)

Killarney: Cape Hell Drivers

killarney

Although Antonie is officially a member of the Worcester Motor Club, he enjoys being a guest racer at the Cape Hell Drivers. It is a different experience as the surface here is asphalt and the track has an unusual shape as it forms part of the main circuit. At 445m, it is also shorter and narrower than worcester's track.
